CARROLL GARDENS — Teddy, a women's clothing and accessory boutique on Smith Street, is closing at the end of the month after nine years in the neighborhood.

The shop, at 243 Smith St., first opened as Lucia and was later renamed, according to a notice announcing its closure posted on its door.

"We have loved being a part of the growth of this fantastic neighborhood, watching it blossom and getting to meet, know and dress its residents and tourists for many years," the notice read.

"But now it is time to pursue other interests. ..."

Teddy is currently selling most of its remaining inventory at discounts ranging from 25 to 75 percent.

An employee at the shop confirmed the imminent closure. Management was not immediately available to comment.

The store will continue to operate its flagship location on Fifth Avenue and Union Street in Park Slope. It also has another location on the Upper West Side.

"Thank you for the many great years here on Smith Street and for supporting your local businesses," the notice continued.

Earlier this year, two other clothing boutiques, Rapisarda and Goldy + Mac, shuttered nearby on Court Street.
