BOERUM HILL — It's the last hurrah for Char No. 4.

The beloved bourbon and barbecue joint in Boerum Hill will close on July 12 but the eatery is giving the neighborhood something to look forward to every night until then.

Char No. 4, which announced its closure last week, plans to offer new daily specials until its final meal on Sunday, proprietor Sean Josephs said in an email to patrons.

The specials will be revealed through Char No. 4's mailing list each day.

"All I know is it's going to be fun and that every day there is going to be a barbecue dish accompanied by a bourbon and a beer as a special," Josephs said in the email Monday afternoon. "I'm sure the rest will take care of itself!"

Monday night will feature a smoked brisket sandwich on a potato roll with jalapeno mayo, barbecue sauce and pickles with a side of mac and cheese alongside a Narragansett Lager and a one-ounce taste of Evan William's Black — all for $15, the email said.

From 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, there will also be an oyster happy hour with one-dollar oysters, $10 champagne and select half-price whiskeys.

Since the announcement of its closure Thursday, Char No. 4, located at 196 Smith St., has been rolling out its nightly specials.

It is unclear why the restaurant, which has been a part of the neighborhood for seven years, is closing. Proprietor Sean Josephs did not respond to requests for comment on the closure.
