WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — Police are looking for a woman who punched a 65-year-old man on an A train after he told her to quiet her screaming child, the NYPD said.

The man was sitting on the train at about 3 p.m. Thursday, June 25, when the suspect and the child boarded the train at 207th Street, police said.

The child was screaming, so the man asked the woman to make the child stop, the NYPD said.

The woman then yelled and cursed at the man before punching him in the head, police said. Another straphanger recorded part of the incident.

She and the child eventually fled the train at the 168th Street stop, police said.

The man refused medical attention at the scene.

Police described the suspect as being in her mid-20, standing about 5-foot-8 and weighs about 250 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
