GRANITEVILLE — A teen was attacked while walking on a Staten Island street by a group of three who tried to take his cellphone, police said.

The 15-year-old was walking near the intersection of Farraday Street and West Caswell Avenue on June 18 at about 3:12 p.m. when he was attacked, police said.

One of the suspects told the victim, "Give me your headphones and your phone," then punched him in the right side of the face, police said. The suspects fled on foot without the victim's cellphone.

The teen had bruising on his face from the punch but refused medical attention, police said.

The three suspects were described by police as between 15 and 16 years old, 5-foot-6 to 6-foot tall and weighing between 130 and 150 pounds.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
