Swedish Circus

Where: 334 Furman St., Brooklyn Bridge Park
When: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday

The Swedish circus company Magmanus will bring free weekend performances to Brooklyn Bridge Park, featuring an acrobat and a juggler in a unique two-man show. The event is part of SummerStage Kids’ International Contemporary Circus Festival. The shows are free and open to the public at 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Friday, June 26

Drag Ball and 'Paris is Burning' Screening

Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, Park Slope
When: Gates open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7:00 p.m.

See the best of the New York ballroom community at a free drag ball and screening of the cult classic documentary "Paris is Burning" about the ball scene in Harlem in the 1980s, hosted by the Celebrate Brooklyn! festival. After some controversy surrounding the original line-up of the event, organizers invited some of the film's original cast members and current ballroom performers.

Lunch Beers: A Monthly Excursion Into the Unknown

Where: The Ides at The Wythe Hotel, 80 Wythe Ave., Williamsburg
When: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The rooftop bar at The Wythe is setting itself up to be a chill spot for people who can bounce out of work early on Fridays. Live music in a variety of genres will be performed: jazz, rock, soul and world music could all pop up at the event, which is free to attend.

Pop-Up Pool Opens at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Where: Near Pier 2 in Brooklyn Bridge Park
When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for 45-minute sessions

Brooklyn Bridge Park’s pop-up pool is back for the season through Labor Day. Cool off with a dip in the water or check out one of the swim lessons that are available at the pool. The pool welcomes swimmers of all ages.

‘Aleah’ Film Screening

Where: 175 New Lots Ave., East New York
When: 8 p.m.

The film “Aleah,” written by a young woman from East New York, deals with the life of a struggling pregnant teen in the neighborhood. The feature will be screened Friday night at the newly opened reNew Lots Market on New Lots and Van Sinderen avenues. In addition, the screening will include a short film, “Black and White,” made by teens in the Reel Works program and “Split Second: A Microcosm of Violence,” made by teens at the Crown Heights Mediation Center.

A Salute to Lady Day: 100th Anniversary Weekly Series

Where: Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza, outside 1368 Fulton St., Bed-Stuy
When: 6 p.m.

Celebrate the music of Billie Holiday as Brooklyn-based musicians pay tribute to the jazz legend. Songwriters and musicians of The Soulfolk Experience perform works from the singer's songbook and introduce new music that pays homage to Lady Day.

Saturday, June 27

Pride Ball

Where: Wythe Hotel, 80 Wythe Ave., Williamsburg
When: 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Gay newsletter Gayletter and Wythe Hotel throw their annual Pride Ball in the hotel’s main hall and outdoor garden on Saturday night, with an open bar from Sixpoint Brewery and Milagro Tequila between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Voguing will be on full blast. Tickets cost $20.

The Community Harvest Lunch

Where: Court Tree Collective, 371 Court St., Carroll Gardens
When: 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Join Arthur Street Kitchen for a family-style feast of its signature seasonal salads, taking place at Court Tree Collective. The gathering will feature four salads from owner Hetty McKinnon’s book, “Community Salad Recipes from Arthur Street Kitchen.” Tickets cost $25.

Henry Street Block Party

Where: Henry and Union streets, Cobble Hill
When: Noon to 11 p.m.

Local eateries Bar Bruno and Mazzola Bakery are returning with their annual block party on Henry and Union streets. According to a flier, the event will feature face painting, games, hot dogs, grilled corn and a DJ.

50 Years of Jonathan Blum Opening Party

Where: Shapeshifter Lab, 18 Whitwell Place, Gowanus
When: 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Park Slope artist Jonathan Blum, who locals know from a Fifth Avenue storefront that’s open “by appointment and by luck,” will celebrate his 50th birthday and kick off a retrospective show that will run through Aug. 15.

12th Annual Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo

Where: Boys and Girls High School, 1700 Fulton St., Bed-Stuy
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kids and adults can enjoy more than 25 sports activities and learn about community resources with nutrition clinics and health screenings. Every child participating in the expo gets a gift bag and families can improve their skills in archery, fencing, gymnastics, and more. Meet New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings along with NASCAR team owner Melissa Lebron.

Sunday, June 28

Little Black Egg Big Band: Yo La Tengo & Friends/Oren Ambarchi at Pioneer Works

Where: Pioneer Works, 159 Pioneer St., Red Hook
When: 8 p.m.

Head over to Red Hook for an evening of music as the ISSUE Project Room returns to the neighborhood with the Little Black Egg Big Band (featuring the members of Yo La Tengo and Pere Ubu) and Oren Ambarchi. Ambarchi, “known for his deft and exploratory instrumental approaches,” will perform solo, according to the event page. For more information on the musicians, click here. Tickets cost $30 for general and $22 for students and members, free for all-access members.

STooPs Art Festival

Where: Throughout Bedford-Stuyvesant
When: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The brownstones of Bed-Stuy become the venue for an art festival, with performances and pieces displayed on dozens of stoops, sidewalks, and backyards. The neighborhood will host artists and musicians from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m and a final show will be held at Restoration Plaza with Bed-Stuy’s own Tai Allen. Pick up a map with times and locations at Brooklyn Swirl, the Stuyvesant Mansion or Bed-Stuy Fresh & Local.
