Astoria Park Carnival

Where: Astoria Park parking lot (19th St. between Astoria Park S. and Ditmars Blvd.)

This annual event at the park will feature games, food and amusement park rides, including a ferris wheel and the carnival favorite “The Zipper.” The event runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and from noon to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Free admission.

Friday, June 26

“House Party” Screening with Full Force in person

Where: Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35 Ave., Astoria

Take a trip back to the early 90s with a screening of the classic flick “House Party,” which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The event will include an appearance by stars Bow Legged Lou, Paul Anthony, B Fine of R&B group Full Force. The screening starts at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15.

► "NYSCI After Dark"

Where: NYSCI (New York Hall of Science), 47-01 111th St., Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Corona

Adults can enjoy the museum after hours with live music, crafts, vegan treats and drinks with NYSCI After Dark, organized in collaboration with Play Too Much, a music zine. There will be mini golf and a chance to explore the museum, which is currently hosting the LEGO Brick Fest. EVVY, Charly Bliss, Grlfrndwrks and Ava Luna will perform. The show is from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. and admission is $15, with drinks from sponsor Sixpoint Breweries included. 

Saturday, June 27

Warm Up 2015

Where: MoMA PS1, 22-25 Jackson Ave., Long Island City

MoMA PS1 kicks off its annual outdoor summer concert series Saturday, when “hippie dance” group Panchanga Boys will perform in the museum’s courtyard. Other musical guests include Eclair Fifi, Samantha Urbani, Amnesia Scanner and The Black Madonna. Tickets cost $18 in advance, $20 at the door. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

► Rockstock & Barrels Festival

Where: Beach 90th Street and the boardwalk, Rockaway Beach

The ninth annual music, skate and surf festival returns to Rockaway Beach, where there is now a boardwalk. There will be live music all day, tents and stands from local merchants and an after-party at local bars. It starts at 10 a.m. and is free. 

► Indie Film Fest at 78th Street Play Street

Where: 78th Street and 34th Avenue, near Travers Park, Jackson Heights

The Queens World Film Festival teams up with the Jackson Heights Green Alliance to screen indie films at dusk on this car-free street. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a chair and blanket to watch the "best of" the film festival's slate. It begins at 7 p.m., and is free. 

► Stoned Soul Picnic at Trans-Pecos

Where: 915 Wycoff Ave., Ridgewood

This daytime family-friendly festival features music from bands including Friend Roulette, Artanker Convoy and Los Rockwells. There's also BBQ provided by Bushwick BBQ, with grilled meat and vegetarian options. It costs $10 to get in and $10 for barbecue. It starts at 1 p.m. 

Sunday, June 28

Michael Bolton and Billy Ocean Perform at Groovin' in the Park

Where: Roy Wilkins Park at 177-01 Baisley Blvd., St. Albans

Grammy-winning singers Michael Bolton and Billy Ocean will perform during an all-day annual Groovin’ In The Park concert at Roy Wilkins Park. Jamaican reggae bands and artists including Morgan Heritage, Cocoa Tea, Lucian Capleton and LT. Stitchie will also play. The concert is a family-friendly event and kids aged 12 and younger enter free of charge. Tickets cost $59.99. For more information go here. The gate opens at 12 p.m. The show starts at 1 p.m. and will end around 8 p.m.

International Mud Day at Queens Botanical Garden

Where: Queens Botanical Garden at 43-50 Main St., Flushing

Get muddy while celebrating nature during International Mud Day at the Queens Botanical Garden. Participants will roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty during this family-friendly event. Kids will get to see earthworms and learn how composting works. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free with garden admission ($4 for adults and $2 for students and children over 3).
