WEST VILLAGE — A 29-year-old woman was choked, punched and robbed on Perry Street by a man who attacked her on her way home late Saturday night, officials said.

The woman was walking westbound on Perry Street between Bleecker and West Fourth streets when a man she didn't know attacked her, police said.

Police said the man choked the woman from behind, then punched her multiple times in the face before snatching her $2,000 Gucci purse and running away.

The suspect ran eastbound on Perry Street then northbound on West Fourth Street, police said.

The woman suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, police said.

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect, police said. The suspect made off with the woman's $500 red Gucci wallet, $700 iPhone 6, Pennsylvania drivers license, three credit cards, an ATM card and $100 in cash, police said.

The woman's phone couldn't be tracked because it was off, and there had been no unauthorized activity on her credit cards, police said.
