CROWN HEIGHTS — A woman has been arrested after being caught on video running over a 93-year-old man with her car, getting out of her vehicle to stare at his body, and then returning to her car and driving away, leaving him to die, police said Wednesday.

Janice Vargas-Cruz, 40, was driving her sedan south on Albany Avenue near Lincoln Place just before 11:15 a.m. Tuesday when the 18-wheel tractor trailer driving in front of her hit Millwood Hughes as he tried to walk across the street and dragged his body beneath its wheels, according to police and prosecutors.

Vargas-Cruz also ran over Hughes, then backed up her vehicle and maneuvered around his body, before hopping out of her car to take a look at the carnage, according to a shocking video of the incident released by the NYPD.
