FORT GREENE — More than two-thirds of the robberies in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill in the past month happened on two major streets, the NYPD said.

Ten out of 14 robberies took place on either Myrtle or Atlantic avenues between May 15 and June 15, police from the 88th Precinct reported at a recent community council meeting.

"We are starting to see the majority of robberies occurring on major thoroughfares in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill," Capt. Peter Fiorillo said. "This is a newer trend that is happening."

Seven robberies took place on Atlantic Avenue and three took place on Myrtle Avenue, a police source said.

However, robberies in the precinct were down 17 percent compared to the same period last year, when there were 17 robberies reported, according to police.

A handful of the robberies included thieves targeting victims for their cellphones, police said.

A 59-year-old woman was punched in the face and robbed of her phone by a 32-year-old man on Myrtle Avenue on June 4 at about 9 a.m., the NYPD said. The suspect was arrested, police said.

Two weeks earlier, on May 21, a male suspect grabbed a woman's phone while she was walking on Atlantic Avenue at about 5 p.m. before running away, police said. No arrests have been made.

On May 19, a 14-year-old boy was robbed on Myrtle Avenue at about 2:45 p.m. by a duo of teens who threatened him with a gun, police said. “I will shoot you in the leg,” the suspects told the victim, according to police. The victim gave the duo $20 and his smartphone, police said. No arrests have been made.
