16 Subway Lines Affected By Weekend Service Changes, MTA Says

NEW YORK CITY — Weekend subway changes will hamper service to 16 lines, according to the MTA.

The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, A, C, D, E, F, L, N, Q and R lines will be affected.

1 Train:

1 trains won’t run in either direction between 14th Street and South Ferry from 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. You can use 2 and 3 trains instead.

During those same times 1 trains will skip 18th, 23rd and 28th Street stops in both direction. Shuttle buses will run between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

2 Train:

2 trains will run local in both directions between Chambers Street and 34th Street-Penn Station from 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Train:

3 trains will run local in both directions between Chambers Street and 34th Street-Penn Station from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

3 trains will continue to skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until September.

4 Train:

Northbound 4 trains will run local from Grand Central-42nd Street to 125th Street from 12:01 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

4 trains will continue to skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in either direction until September.  

Brooklyn-bound 4 trains will skip 103 Street at all times until September.

5 Train:

5 trains won’t run in either direction between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street. Instead shuttle buses will run between the two stations making stops at Baychester Avenue, Gun Hill Road, Pelham Parkway and Morris Park.

5 trains will run every 20 minutes between East 180th Street and Bowling Green from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m Saturday and Sunday.

Northbound trains will run local between Grand Central-42nd Street to 125th Street.

6 Train:

Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains run express between Parkchester and Pelham Bay Park from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Southbound 6 trains skip 103rd Street at all times until September.

7 Train:

Eastbound 7 trains will run express between Queensboro Plaza and Willets Point from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday morning.

A Train:

A trains won’t run in either direction between Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound A trains will also skip 88th Street during that time.

Shuttle buses will run between 80th Street and Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard, stopping at 88th Street, Rockaway Boulevard, 104th Street, and 111th Street.

Northbound A trains run express from Canal Street to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday 5:00 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound A trains will continue to skip Rockaway Boulevard at all times until the fall.

C Train:

Northbound C trains will run express from Canal Street to 125th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

D Train:

Coney Island-bound D trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 36th Street from 11:45 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, then from 11:45 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday morning.

Northbound D trains will run on the N line all the way from the Coney Island stop from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday. In order to access any of the D train stops in Brooklyn between Coney Island and 36th Street you’ll have to ride a northbound train then switch to a southbound one that makes normal D train stops.

E Train:

E trains will run local in Queens from 12:30 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m on Monday.

F Train:

Queens-bound F trains will run on the M line between Rockefeller Center to Roosevelt Avenue from 9:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound F trains will run local in Queens from 12:30 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-bound F trains skip 23 St and 14 Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

L Train:

The L train is operating in two sections between 8th Avenue and Broadway Junction and between Broadway Junction and Canarsie from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Trains will only run every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Canarsie.

N Train:

Coney Island-bound N trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 36th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday morning.

Coney Island bound N trains are rerouted on the D line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

Q Train:

Coney Island bound Q trains run express from Prospect Park to Kings Highway from 11:15 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

R Train:

Bay Ridge-bound R trains run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 59th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Bay Ridge-bound R trains skip 45th Street and 53rd Street but northbound trains will make those stops. That’s from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
