LONG ISLAND CITY — Police are looking for a thief who stole a backpack from a college student at a bus stop in Queens — making off with his school books and other supplies, according to the NYPD.

The suspect walked up to the 20-year-old victim, a student at LaGuardia Community College, while he was standing at the Q39 bus stop at 33rd Street and 48th Avenue roughly 2:30 p.m. on May 19.

The thief stole the man's North Face backpack, which held his school books, school supplies and a cell phone, according to police.

The suspect then fled on foot. The victim wasn't injured in the incident, police said.
