FORT GREENE — A woman using a cane was arrested for swiping a purse from a public bathroom in Fort Greene Park and later using a credit card from the bag to buy booze, police said.

The suspect, 51, stole the purse from the restrooms near the corner of Myrtle Avenue and St. Edwards Street at about 4 p.m. on June 14, according to police.

She then used a credit card from the purse to buy $40 worth of liquor from Best Buy Wine and Spirits at 701 Fulton St., just blocks from BAM Park, the NYPD said.

Surveillance footage from the liquor store showed the thief, who walked using a cane, handing two bottles of alcohol to the store clerk and then paying for them using cards she removed from the purse, police said.

Police arrested the woman three days later and charged her with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, they said.
