“On The Fence” Fulton Art Fair

Where: Fulton Park, Bedford-Stuyvesant

Get your art fix this weekend in Bed-Stuy where several original pieces will be on display throughout Fulton Park. Everything from photography and collages to watercolor paintings will be showcased, and you can enjoy some live music and spoken word on your stroll. The free event is from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m on Sunday.

Falconworks’ The Cherry Orchard

Where: Red Hook Labs, 133 Imlay St., Red Hook    

Falconworks Theater Company presents its final performances of Anton Chekov’s “The Cherry Orchard” this weekend. The production is adapted to represent aspects of modern-day Red Hook and social issues that are faced today. Shows throughout the weekend start at 8 p.m. and cost $36.87. Get your tickets here.

Popsickle Literary Festival

Where: Living Gallery, 1094 Broadway, Williamsburg and Soda Bar, 629 Vanderbilt Ave., Prospect Heights

Check out your favorite authors at Brooklyn’s “weekend-long megareading,” the sixth annual Popsickle Lit Fest, held in Williamsburg and Prospect Heights. The event features dozens of writers and literary organizations and admission is free with an RSVP. The festival lasts from 1 p.m. through 10 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Northside Senior Citizen Art Show

Where: Northside Senior Center, 179 North Sixth St., Williamsburg

Williamsburg may be known for newcomer artists, but the painters in this show have been around for decades. Art may be a newfound hobby for these Williamsburg and Greenpoint seniors, but that doesn’t mean it’s amateur work — many of them have sold work professionally. Paintings can be on sale for $10 to $25. The free show begins at 1 p.m.

1718 Collective Pop-Up Gallery    

Where: 440 Nostrand Ave., Bedford-Stuyvesant    

Check out this outdoor pop-up gallery with canvas work from several Brooklyn-based artists, with an eclectic mix of styles and cultures. The gallery is open from 2 p.m. through 8 p.m. and tickets cost $3.

Rooftop Films’ New York Non-Fiction Series

Where: Industry City, 220 36th St., Sunset Park

Watch and listen to the stories of some of New York’s most unique characters at Rooftop Films’ annual “New York Non-Fiction” series. Nine short films, ranging from three to 30 minutes, will be screened at the event, focusing on characters like bootleg toy-makers to pickle-selling skaters. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the films begin at 9 p.m., tickets are $15.

Saturday, June 20

A Walk Through History, Bus Tour of Notable African-Americans

Where: Weeksville Heritage Center, Crown Heights; Cypress Hills Cemetery

This tour pays tribute to the 150th anniversary of Juneteeth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Start with a visit to Weeksville Cultural Center and hear from experts on the rich history of African American notables. The guided walk at bus ride begins at 2 p.m. and lasts through 5 p.m. Tickets are $5.

Grand Street Summer Days Block Party

Where: Grand Street between Leonard St. and Graham Ave., Williamsburg

Part of Williamsburg in Grand Street will shut down on Saturday for live music, events, food, art and more as part of the business district’s “Summer Days” festival. With sports and an acrobatic workshop, this event will be good for all ages. The free party lasts from 2 p.m. through 8 p.m.

DanceBrazil

Where: Prospect Park Bandshell

See a free performance by the Brazil-based contemporary dance troupe DanceBrazil on Saturday night at the Prospect Park Bandshell as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn! festival. The show will take a cultural tour of the different dance styles in Brazil, from forro (the “rural party music of Brazil’s northeastern states”) to capoiera. Suggested donation is $3. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.

Album Release Party for “Hootenanny Pete” at Greenwood Park

Where: Greenwood Park, 555 Seventh Ave. in Park Slope

The Hootenanny Art House music teacher who’s introduced legions of Park Slope babies, toddlers and parents to the joys of singing “Hello Everybody” celebrates the release of his new family album, “House of Song.” The party lasts from 10 a.m. through 12 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Sunday, June 21

The Moth GrandSLAM XXXVII

Where: Music Hall of Williamsburg, 66 North Sixth St., Williamsburg

Popular storytelling competition The Moth is having its GrandSLAM competition in Williamsburg on Sunday. A collection of storytellers will take the stage to tell a true story, without the help of notes, based on the theme “Feel the Heat.” Contest begins at 6:30 p.m., tickets are $23.
