MANHATTAN — A man took credit for a string of attacks against Asian women in Manhattan this past week after “nearly 1,500” of them rejected his romantic advances in less than a year, according to a blog post.

Police are searching for the suspect, 25-year-old Tyrelle Shaw. Relatives contacted the authorities after seeing surveillance video released after the most recent attack on Monday, according to the New York Times, which first identified the suspect.

In a blog post published Wednesday, Shaw claimed he was responsible for the attacks and said he was frustrated over his failed attempts to woo Asian women.

“I never wanted to reach the conclusion that Asian Women would never take me serious, because of the color of my skin,” he wrote.

“In less than 350 days, I talked to nearly 1500 Asian Women and none of them took time out of their day to say hello. I became furious. I never agreed with violence, but I knew the only way I could overcome that sense of rejection — would start by assaulting the Women that carelessly rejected me.”

Shaw, who described his attacks as “The Nose Game,” also wrote he planned to end his life.

“Inform NYPD they could stop searching for me because I’m going to commit suicide,” the post read.

According to the Times, the NYPD followed up on some of the specific locations mentioned but had not yet found Shaw.

“He’s not known to be living anywhere,” a law enforcement official told the newspaper, adding that investigators were looking at family connections to figure out where he could be.

Police said Shaw was 5-foot-11 with brown eyes and black hair and weighed about 150 pounds.

The attacks began just after 4 p.m. on June 10, near 155 Grand St., when a 35-year-old victim was hit in the face by a bag carrying a heavy object, after she ignored the attacker who tried to strike up a conversation with her, police said.

Later that night, the same man allegedly attacked a 29-year-old woman on Park Avenue and East 30th Street, and then attacked a 34-year-old woman near the intersection of Second Avenue and East 60th Street two days later, police said.

During the latest attack, which took place Monday at Paragon II Cleaners on Mulberry Street, where the victim worked, the suspect threatened to rape a 41-year-old woman in a message written in Cantonese that he showed her on his cellphone, according to witnesses and sources.

In each incident he swung a plastic bag filled with a heavy object, according to the NYPD.
