Have you seen this moose near Gramercy Park?

Elan Restaurant owners George Stinson and David Waltuck are on the hunt for Floyd, their 12-inch tall moose, and are offering the restaurant’s famous seafood sausage to anyone who brings Floyd back or offers useful information on his whereabouts, a media release says.

Floyd has been missing since Thursday, June 11th. While at Elan, the wooden moose could be found sitting atop the bar and “enjoying spruce ice cream,” a media release says.

Floyd holds sentimental value to Stinson and Waltuck, according to an AM New York report. Floyd was given to Elan's owners when they opened the restaurant in June 2014. The person who brought Floyd into Stinson and Waltuck’s lives has since passed on, the report says.

The search for Floyd comes on the tail — or perhaps antlers — of a rash of publicized prized-item disappearances. On June 9th, a plush penguin went missing in the East Village. On June 14th, a man flying his drone from his rooftop near Prospect Park believed it was stolen after heavy winds required him to land the device on the ground.

The machine was later returned to the drone owner by another man in his neighborhood, who accepted some money as a reward and asked for lessons on how to fly the device.

One can only hope that Floyd and the lost penguin will return to their rightful owners soon, too.

If you have any information on Floyd’s whereabouts, call the restaurant at 646-682-7105 or tweet @elan_nyc using the hashtag #wheresfloyd.
