LOWER MANHATTAN — Handbags containing laptops were swiped from two Downtown bars last week, police said.

A $900 leather bag containing a $2,800 MacBook was swiped from a chair at the Stone Street Tavern at 52 Stone St. on June 14 at about 5:30 p.m. when a woman left it on a chair unattended, police said.

A day earlier, on June 13, a man's $200 leather bag, which had his $1,100 MacBook inside, was stolen from the Cricketer's Arms at about 9:00 p.m., according to the NYPD.

The bag was placed at his feet at the 57 Murray St. bar, and then he noticed it was missing, police said.
