PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — Crown Heights sushi joint Silver Rice plans to launch its second outpost in the neighborhood later this year, its owners said.

Silver Rice is opening at 575 Flatbush Ave. near Midwood Street this summer or early fall with a menu of sushi rolls, chirashi bowls and sushi cups — deconstructed sushi served inside of a to-go cup.

The offerings will be the same as its first location on Park Place and Franklin Avenue, which opened in March 2014, according to co-owner Hideki Kato.

“Silver Rice's goal is to offer quality and affordable casual sushi to the neighborhood where the option is not available,” Kato said in an email.

Kato and his business partner hope the new restaurant becomes the place “people like to stop by and eat as [an] every-day meal,” he said.

Prices at Silver Rice range from $5 to $7 for classic rolls or a sushi cup, to $10 to $13 for special rolls and chirashi bowls.

The new Prospect-Lefferts Gardens location will neighbor Midwood Flats, a new bar and gastropub that opened in the neighborhood last fall.
