Friday, June 12

Northside Festival

Where: Various locations in Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick

This weeklong event that begins Friday June 12, will feature 400 bands, 150 speakers and 50 films in north Brooklyn galleries, bars, restaurants and parks. Guests include noise pop musical duo Sleigh Bells, author Carl Honoré, Bloomberg's Alex Barinka and films by John Purcell and Adam Dorsey. Saturday, June 13

Where: reNew Lots, 175 New Lots Ave.

An open mic session, panel discussion about hip-hop and multiple dance performances will all be a part of the "reNewal Weekend" at the newly opened reNew Lots Market in East New York. This weekend's theme is "exposing hip-hop's generational gap." The event is free and open to the public. The event takes place from 1 to 8 p.m.

Stuyvesant North Tour

Where: Meeting location is provided after ticket purchase.

Learn the rich history behind Bed-Stuy’s brownstones and row houses on this tour of the proposed historic district called Stuyvesant North. Historian and writer Suzanne Spellen and local architect Morgan Munsey serve as your guides. The meeting location is provided after ticket purchase. 2 p.m. $20 general, $15 for members of the Municipal Art Society of New York.

Sunday, June 14

Magic Acro Party

Where: Brooklyn Air Space, 132 Bedford Ave., Williamsburg

Acrobats, magicians and other circus performers will be taking the stage at the Magic Acro Party hosted by circus school Brooklyn Air Space. Those looking to boogie should stick around — there will be dancing after the show. Tickets cost $15.

71st Precinct Family Picnic

Where: Hamilton Metz Park, Crown Heights

Come out for free food (kosher and non-kosher), drinks, rides for kids and a marching band performance at the annual 71st Precinct Community Council family picnic in Crown Heights. The fun starts at 11:30 a.m. at Hamilton Metz Park at the corner of Albany and Lefferts avenues.
