LOWER EAST SIDE — A group of about five men beat up an 18-year-old last week after trying to rob him, police said.

The teen was walking to the bus stop when the group approached him in front of the LaGuardia Houses at 240 Madison St. roughly 6:20 a.m. on May 28, police said.

“Give me your money,” one of the men said, according to the NYPD.

After the teen told the man he did not have any money, the teen was pushed into a scaffolding pole, which caused a bruise on his right cheek, police said.

The victim then fell on the floor and the group began kicking and punching him, causing cuts on his face and swelling on his right hand. The attackers then fled southbound into the complex, police said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital for an x-ray of his hand.
