CROWN HEIGHTS — Two women were stabbed and another six had their faces burned with drain cleaner in a Crown Heights brawl Wednesday night, police said.
The eight women — aged 17 to 22 — fought at the intersection of Schenectady Avenue and Carroll Street about 11;20 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said.
Sources said the fight began as an argument on Facebook about a past relationship and then spilled into the street.
"They were throwing bottles. They were trying to stab each other. I thought they were going to kill each other. I never saw a fight like that in my life," said a man who only gave his name as Steve, 50.
"I was in the kitchen and heard some screaming. A woman screamed, 'Get off me! Get off me!' She was yelling, 'Leave me alone! Stop choking me!'" said another witness, David, 40.
David saw one girl lying on a stretcher in the aftermath and another with a bandaged left hand, he said.
An 18-year-old woman was stabbed in the left arm and a 20-year-old woman was stabbed in the back, police said.
Both were listed in stable condition at Kings County Hospital, police said.
The six other women — a 17-year-old, two 19-year-olds, and a 20, 21 and 22-year-old — suffered burns to their face and eye areas from a drain cleaning agent, an NYPD spokesman said.
They were listed in stable condition at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell hospital, police said.
Seven of the women were taken into police custody but were still awaiting formal charges as of Thursday morning, sources said.
