THE BRONX — A Bronx man was arrested and charged with raping and robbing a woman on a Van Nest street early Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.
The 32-year-old woman was walking on Amethyst Street near Rhinelander Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. when Francisco DeLaRosa, 27, started talking to her, then suddenly punched her in the face and sexually assaulted her, police said. He took $40 from her bag and fled
DeLaRosa, who lived at 2327 Grand Concourse, has prior arrests for drug possession, robbery and burglary.
The Bronx man was charged with rape, robbery, criminal sexual act, assault and abuse.
He was expected to be arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court.
