A guard at Sears inside the Staten Island Mall spotted Jennifer Regan, 40, on a security camera take a handbag and slippers off a shelf on Sunday at about 5:25 p.m., prosecutors said. The footage showed Regan put the slippers on her feet and walk out of the store with the purse on her shoulder, prosecutors said.

When police arrested Regan, they found buprenorphine and nalaxone in her bag and then later found 39 glassines of heroin and $775 inside her bra when they searched her at the 121 Precinct, prosecutors said.

Regan was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny at her arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.
