CHELSEA — A 15-year-old student was sent to the hospital in critical condition after he was punched by another boy during a fight at their Manhattan high school Friday, according to police.

The teen got into a fight with another 15-year-old student at The High School of Fashion Industries at 225 W. 24th St. in Chelsea around 11:30 a.m., the New York Post first reported. The victim was punched and fell to the ground, hitting his head on the floor, according to the NYPD.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The student who threw the punch — whose name was not released because he is a juvenile — was arrested for assault, according to police.

The Department of Education said it's taking "appropriate action" in response to the incident.

The High School for Fashion Industries teaches kids about fashion design, merchandising and marketing, and has been visited by stars like Nick Cannon and Betsey Johnson.
