16 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

MIDTOWN — Brace yourself for subway service changes affecting 16 lines this weekend. But on the bright side, it's the last weekend of the L train shutdown.

Here is the rundown:

2 Line: Trains will run express from Franklin Avenue to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Line: Trains will run express from Franklin Avenue to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Trains are skipping Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late September 2015. Free shuttle bus service will be provided.

4 Line: Trains will run express from Franklin Avenue to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Woodlawn-bound trains will skip 138th Street-Grand Concourse from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, then 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday and finally 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound trains are skipping 103rd Street at all times until September 2015.

Trains are skipping Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late September 2015.

5 Line: Trains will be suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will provide service.

6 Line: Pelham Bay Park-bound trains will run express from Third Avenue-138th Street to Hunts Point Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

For service to Brook Avenue, Cypress Avenue, East 143rd Street, East 149th Street and Longwood Avenue, riders can take a 6 train to Hunts Point Avenue and transfer to a downtown train.

From these stations, riders can take a 6 train to Third Avenue-138th Street and transfer to a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.

A Line: Downtown trains will run express from 125th Street to Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Far Rockaway-Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound trains will skip Rockaway Boulevard at all times until Summer 2015. 

For service to this station, take a Far Rockaway-bound A train to Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue or a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train. 

For service from this station, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

C Line: Downtown trains will run express from 125th Street to Canal Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

E Line: Downtown trains will run express from 34th Street-Penn Station to Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Jamaica Center-bound trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 12:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 12:15 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday.

Trains will run local from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue and from Forest Hills-71st Avenue back to Queens Plaza from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

D Line: Coney Island-bound trains will be rerouted over the N line from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Jamaica-179th Street-bound trains will run local from Roosevelt to Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Manhattan-bound trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to 21st Street-Queensbridge from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

J Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Broadway Junction to Myrtle Avenue from 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

M Line: Service will be extended to the 57th Street F line station from 6:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

L Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between Eighth Avenue and Lorimer Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Riders can use the A, J, M, M14 bus and free shuttle buses for alternate service.

Q Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park from 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

R Line: Forest Hills-bound trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Rockaway Park Shuttle: Service will be suspended from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Shuttle buses will provide service between Rockaway Park and Beach 67th Street.
