► Free Portrait Project Benefit
Where: 663 Classon Ave., Crown Heights
Get a deal on local artwork, hear live music and support a neighborhood art project this Friday night at Shoestring Press in Crown Heights. They're hosting a silent auction sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery to benefit the "Free Portrait Project," one man's attempt to paint 200 residents of the neighborhood. The free event starts at 7 p.m.

► Brooklyn Public Library’s Bike the Branches
Where: Brooklyn Public Library branches
The Brooklyn Public Library hosts its 3rd annual bike tour this weekend with routes exploring the borough and its 60 neighborhood branches. Explore Prospect Park with mascot Curious George, sample artisanal treats on the Smorgasburg Foodie Tour, or visit Brooklyn’s breweries and distilleries. Individual registration starts at $10 for kids and $20 for adults. Bike from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Central Library Block party lasts until 7 p.m.
Where: Prospect Park, near Bartel Pritchard Square
Join parents, teachers and students on a 5K run to support Brooklyn schools. Registration is $20, and last year's event raised $13,000. The run kicks off at 10 a.m.
Where: Fifth Avenue and 4th Street, Park Slope
Find your next ride or sell your used bike at the spring season New York Bike Jumble, the marketplace for new and second-hand bicycles, accessories and parts. Bring cash and get ready to haggle at "the jumble," located near the Old Stone House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
► Brooklyn Heights Landmark House and Garden Tour
Where: 129 Pierrepont St., Brooklyn Heights
Spend your Saturday taking in the architectural history of five private townhouses in Brooklyn Heights in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the NYC Landmarks Law and the neighborhood's historic district designation. Tickets are priced at $80 and the tour lasts from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Corner of Bedford Avenue and Madison Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant
This light show and live performance projects poems onto buildings from a hand-painted truck. Writer Toni Blackman emcees the evening filled with musicians and scripted and freestyle poetry highlighting the African diaspora experience. The event is hosted by the PEN American Center and starts at 8 p.m.

► Pop-Up Crafts Market at Halyards Bar
Where: 406 Third Ave., Gowanus
Have a drink and shop for handmade stationery, jewelry, textiles and ceramics at this pop-up market at Halyards Bar, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 722 Metropolitan Ave., Williamsburg
Stairwell Theatre, a company that produces shows that "embrace the architecture of our performance environments," is putting on the classic Shakespeare play about love. Watch at Standard ToyKraft as a princess abandons royal life to dress as a boy and find out what love really is. The show begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10.
