MANHATTAN — A woman was slashed across the arm in the Brooklyn Bridge—City Hall subway station by a man she laughed at for spitting on her, police said.

The 34-year-old woman, whose name was not immediately released, was in the station about 5:40 p.m. when the suspect, 35, came up and tried to talk to her, NYPD officials said.

She ignored him so he spat on her, prompting her to burst into laughter, police said.

He then pulled out a sharp object and slashed her arm before fleeing the scene, police said.

She was treated at Lower Manhattan Hospital and released, police said.

Her attacker, who can be seen in video pushing through a turnstile, wore a blue tank-top with a gold chain, blue Yankee cap and a backpack, according to the NYPD.

He is about 5-foot-6 and 165 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
