HELL'S KITCHEN — A 2014 BMW X3 Zipcar was checked out from a Ninth Avenue garage with a fraudulent account and never returned, police said.

The driver took the car share service's luxury SUV at 7 p.m. on April 24 from the Edison Garage at 451 Ninth Ave., near West 35th Street, authorities said. Two days later, the car, valued at $37,000, had yet to be returned.

When attempts to contact the driver failed, Zipcar determined the account was fraudulent, police said.

Zipcar said they do not comment on ongoing investigations.

Other recent crimes in the 10th precinct include:

►A fruit stand vendor who slipped away to the bathroom at around 4 a.m. Saturday morning returned to his stand to find his generator stolen, the NYPD said. The 22-year-old vendor, stationed outside of 315 8th Ave., said the red Honda generator was worth over $1,000, police said.

►A woman bought an iPad off a man on the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 17th Street for $140 on April 23, police said, bargaining him down from $500. When she opened the box she found there was no iPad and the box was filled with newspapers, according to authorities.
