ASTORIA — You can get to Sesame Street by way of Queens this weekend, as the actor behind everyone's favorite yellow bird will be at the Museum of the Moving Image.

Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer who's played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on the beloved children's show for decades, will greet fans at the museum Sunday and attend a screening of a film about his career.

Museum-goers will be able to pose for a photo with Spinney from 1:30 to 2 p.m., followed by a screening of the documentary, "I am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story." The film, by directors Dave LaMattina and Chad N. Walker, chronicles Spinney's life and his role as the legendary character.

Spinney and his wife, Debi Spinney, will take part in a question-and-answer session following the screening.

The festivities are part of the museum's "Spring Family Day" which will include free set design and animation activities for kids and families. Tickets to the film screening will cost $15.

The Museum of the Moving Image is no stranger to "Sesame Street" and The Muppets — a permanent exhibit and gallery featuring hundreds of Jim Henson's puppets and other memorabilia is expected to open at the museum this year.
