Woman Slashed With Kitchen Knife in Williamsburg Robbery, Police Say

SOUTH WILLIAMSBURG — A woman was slashed twice in the arm by a long kitchen knife during a robbery near a public housing apartment, police said.

The victim, 24, said she outside the Independence Towers with friends on Thursday, April 23 around 12:45 a.m. when she got into an argument with three women she didn't know, police said.

One of the women slashed her twice in the right arm with a knife, saying, "You deserve it," police said.

The women took $62 worth of property from the victim, including a black LG cellphone, a social security card, a state ID, a phone charger and a black purse featuring pink Playboy bunnies, police said.

The victim said she fled and called emergency medical services, though the hospital, which was not named, said she walked into the ER without EMS, police said.

Police said the suspect was 24 years old and 5-foot-6.

No one has been arrested for the incident.

Other notable incidents in the 90th precinct include:

► A woman was pushed to the floor and robbed by three men in South Williamsburg.

The victim, 29, said she was near South Fifth Street and Rodney Street on Friday, April 24 around 10:45 p.m. when someone grabbed her from behind, pushed her to the ground and took her two bags, police said.

She did not suffer any injuries. The thieves took an iPhone 4s, credit cards and a passport, police said.

No one has been arrested for the incident.

►  A teen was robbed after a man approached him from behind and threatened him with a knife, police said.

The boy, 14, said he was near Throop Avenue and Bartlett Street on Thursday, April 23 around 2:23 p.m. when he was followed from a bodega by a man, police said.

The man displayed the knife and said, "I know you got money, you're getting robbed," police said.

"I don't want to hurt you, I just want your money" the man said, according to police.

The man took $5 from the victim and then ran toward Flushing Avenue. The teenager went to school and reported the incident to the main office, police said.

The suspect was last seen wearing a brown jogging jacket or sweatshirt, multicolored jogging clothes and blue sneakers, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.

►  A teenager was robbed at gunpoint for his blue Nike foam sneakers, police said.

The boy, 16, was walking with another person near Marcy Avenue and South Second Street on Thursday, April 23 around 9:30 a.m. when he was approached by three men, police said.

One of them tried to remove the victim's bag, police said. The boy pulled away, but two of the men began to punch the victim in the chest, police said.

One suspect hit the victim in the head with a black firearm, police said.

The men then took the $300 Nike foam sneakers from the boy's feet and fled.

No one has been arrested for the incident.
