15 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Subway service will see more changes this weekend as the system undergoes capital construction work, according to the MTA. Customers who rely on the following lines are asked to allow for additional travel time:

1 Train

Van Cortlandt Park-242 Street bound 1 trains run express from 96th Street to 145th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27.

3 Train

3 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions until late September 2015.

For service to and from Rockaway Avenue, customers are advised to use shuttle buses to and from the Saratoga Avenue station at all times. B60 customers can transfer to and from shuttle buses at Rockaway Avenue.

For service to and from Van Siclen Avenue, straphangers can use shuttle buses to and from the Pennsylvania Avenue station at all times. A free transfer is available with a MetroCard.

4 Train

4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions until late September 2015.

Also, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 26, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday, April 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, Woodlawn-bound 4 trains will run express from Grand Central-42nd Street to 125 Street. Crown Heights-Utica Avenue bound 4 trains will run express from Grand Central-42nd Street to 14 Street-Union Square.

5 Train

5 trains will be suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27. 5 trains will run every 20 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Bowling Green.

6 Train

6 trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions until 5 a.m. Monday, April 27.

For service to and from Zerega Avenue, straphangers should use the Bx4 or shuttle buses to connect between the stop and Castle Hill Avenue. For service to and from Buhre Avenue, use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses to connect between Buhre Avenue and Middletown Road. Free transfers are available with MetroCards.

In addition, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains run express from Grand Central-42nd Street to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27. Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall bound 6 trains will run express from Grand Central-42nd Street to 14th Street-Union Square during the same time frame.

7 Train

Flushing-Main Street bound 7 trains will run express from Queensboro Plaza to Mets-Willets Point from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27.

For 33rd Street, 40th Street, 46th Street and 52nd Street, take the Main Street-bound 7 train to 61st Street-Woodside and transfer to a Times Square-42nd Street bound 7 train.

For 69th Street, 74th Street, 82nd Street, 90th Street, 103rd Street and 111th Street, take the Flushing-Main Street bound 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point and transfer to a Times Square-42nd Street bound 7 train.

A Train

Far Rockaway/Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A trains skip Rockaway Boulevard at all times until Summer 2015.

To get to this station, take the Far Rockaway-bound A train to Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue or the Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train. For service from the station, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train.

Also, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, A trains are suspended in both directions between Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service via 80th Street. Howard Beach/Far Rockaway-bound A trains will skip 88th Street.

For service to 88th Street, take the A train to 80th Street and transfer to free shuttle buses. For service from 88th Street toward the Rockaways, straphangers should take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 80th Street and transfer to a Howard Beach/Far Rockaway-bound A train.

A train service will operate between Inwood-207th Street and Howard Beach/Far Rockaway. Free shuttle buses will operate between 80th Street and Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard, stopping at 88th Street, Rockaway Boulevard, 104th Street and 111th Street. Customers can transfer between shuttle buses and A trains at 80th Street.

C Train

Euclid Avenue-bound C trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday April, 25 and Sunday, April 26.

D Train

Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue bound D trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and 36th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 26 and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday, April 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27.

E Train

World Trade Center-bound E trains run express from 34th Street-Penn Station to Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27.

Also, from 12:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26, and from 12:16 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer bound E trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue.

From 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer bound E trains will run local from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue.

F Train

From 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, Jamaica-179th Street bound F trains will run local from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue. Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue bound F trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to 21st Street-Queensbridge.

Also, from 9:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, Jamaica-179th Street bound F trains are rerouted via the M line from 47th-50th Streets/Rockefeller Center to Roosevelt Avenue.

L Train

From 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, L trains will be suspended in both directions between Eighth Avenue and Lorimer Street. L trains will operate between Lorimer Street and Rockaway Parkway, while M service will be extended to the 57th Street F station during the day and evening. A free MetroCard transfer will be available from the Broadway G stop to the Lorimer Street JM station.

Meanwhile, free shuttle buses will operate between Lorimer Street and the Broadway G station, stopping at Bedford Avenue, the Marcy Avenue JM stop and Hewes Street JM stop. Customers can transfer between free shuttle buses and JM trains at Marcy Avenue or Hewes Street.

Additional options include using the A or J to or from Manhattan via a transfer at Broadway Junction or taking the M via a transfer at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues. M14A buses also provide alternate service along 14th Street between Eighth Avenue and First Avenue and connect with the JM at Delancey-Essex Streets station.

M Train

M service is extended to the 57th Street F train station from 6:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday, April 25 and 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, April 26.

N Train

Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue bound N trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 36th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 24 to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 26 and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday, April 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 27.

R Train

Forest Hills-71st Avenue bound R trains run express from Queens Plaza to Forest Hills-71st Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. Also, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26, Bay Ridge-95th Street bound R trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 36th Street.
