Man Assaults Straphanger in Unprovoked Subway Attack, NYPD Says

BED-STUY — A subway rider viciously assaulted another straphanger aboard a Manhattan-bound A train in a seemingly unprovoked attack, police said.

The victim suffered a fractured eye socket in the assault, which took place as the train rolled into the Utica Avenue station about 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 2, the NYPD said.

Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital.

The suspect was last seen wearing a red and white sweater, dark blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.
