THE BRONX — Gorilla gorilla gorilla.

That's the species name for the two adorable infant gorillas that are now available for public viewing at the Bronx Zoo, officials said Wednesday.

The two are western lowland gorillas, a species that's considered critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

The gorillas were born in January, but are just now available for the public to see them at the zoo.

The times they will be in the exhibit will vary day to day, depending on weather and temperature and other environmental factors, zoo officials said.

The gorillas were both born in January to two 16-year-old mothers named Layla and Kumi. Cradle-robbing Ernie is the 32-year-old father of both babes.

The gorillas are still too young to determine their gender, officials said.

The gorilla gorilla gorilla is native to tropical and subtropical forests in equatorial Africa.

There are currently 19 gorillas living at the Bronx Zoo's Congo Gorilla Forest.
