ELTINGVILLE — National burger chain Smashburger plans to open its first location in Staten Island by the end of the year.
The Denver-based burger chain is launching a joint in Eltingville Shopping Center, at 4310-4370 Amboy Rd., between July and September, according to Muss Development, which represents the owner.
The burger chain — known for its "hand-smashed" Angus beefburgers — has several other New York City outposts in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx.
Aside from Smashburger, which leased a 2,550-square-foot storefront, the Staten Island Behavioral Network and Ivy Urgent Care Center also took space at the center and plan to relocate their offices there this year, Muss said.
“Eltingville Shopping Center is an ideal Staten Island location appealing to a wide range of office space users — including services firms, nonprofit organizations and government agencies, among others — as well as both local and national retailers,” Jason Muss, principal of Muss Development, said in a statement.
The leases for Smashburger and Ivy Urgent Care bring the retail section of the center to full occupancy, Muss said. Other tenants include Rite Aid, Perkins, a jewelry store and a pizzeria.
