FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A woman cursing out a toddler on an A train turned her ire towards an onlooker who witnessed the disturbing scene and attacked her with a bottle, police said.

Police said the 32-year-old victim watched as the woman yelled obscenities at a toddler who was with her, threatening to hit the little girl with the bottle as they rode the train on April 11 at about 9 a.m.

The woman then began yelling at the victim once she saw the straphanger watching the verbal assault, according to police.

When the train stopped at the Fulton Street station, the woman whacked the victim on the side of her head with the bottle and fled the train with the child, according to the NYPD. It was not clear what kind of bottle she used, police said.

The victim, who was not hospitalized, was left with a swollen head and pain.

The attacker is described as approximately 20 to 35-years-old and was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, and black pants.

Police are asking anyone with information on the burglary to call Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or to visit the website.
