WILLIAMSBURG — Police are looking for a man they say tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car earlier this month.

The girl was walking near Manhattan Avenue and Moore Street on March 13 around 5:50 p.m. when the man drove up in a silver SUV and waved at her to come over, police said.

The girl ignored the man and continued to walk. The man parked his car and started following the girl, police said.

He continued to wave at her to come toward him, police said.

The girl ran away, and the man fled. No injuries were reported.

The man was described as 35 years old, 5-foot-8 and wearing dark clothes.

Police released photos of his car and a sketch of his face.

The incident was the latest in a string of reported child-luring attempts in Brooklyn, including four separate incidents in a week, police said. On March 3, police say, a man jumped out of a van at Fifth Avenue and 46th Street in Sunset Park and grabbed at a sixth-grade girl around 7:30 a.m.

That same day, 55-year-old Andres Delacruz allegedly groped a female middle school student and tried to grab a boy walking to the campus of P.S. 9. He was arrested and released without bail.

On March 9, a man approached a student at P.S. 11 in Clinton Hill and tried to get him to come with him, according to DOE security.

Police cleared two men in an SUV who approached a 10-year-old girl in Fort Greene March 9, saying the girl "embellished" the story.
