NEW YORK CITY — Looks like you're walking this weekend.

Along with 18 subway lines affected by weekend work, Citi Bike will be going offline starting at 10 p.m. Friday night to "allow for system-wide maintenance," according to an announcement from the company.

While stations will still accept bike returns, riders will not be able take new rentals until the system is back up.

An exact time for restoring the bike share has not yet been provided, but it's expected to be some time Sunday night, a spokesman said.

Citi Bike will extend memberships by three days past the current expiration dates to make up for lost time.

"We have been hard at work all winter to prepare improvements to Citi Bike and we are doing everything in our power to put them in place in advance of the peak riding months," the announcement said.
