BROOKLYN — A Bed-Stuy woman fought off a man who followed her into her apartment building and sexually assaulted her on a staircase, police said.

She had just walked into the building near Van Buren and Lewis Avenue about 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 27 when the man attacked her, NYPD officials said.

He pulled down her pants, but she managed to fight him off and he fled the scene, police said.

He still had not been arrested as of Wednesday morning, police said.

The attacker is about 20, 5-feet-6 and thin, NYPD officials said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
