Friday, March 20
Thanks to the development of new technology and social media, more photographs are created, viewed, and shared today than ever before. “Public Eye: 175 Years of Sharing Photography,” is curated to take advantage of this moment; to reframe the way we look at photographs from the past. Free public tours of the exhibition are available at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. New York Public Library, Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street, Midtown. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., free.

New Directors/New Films, a co-presentation of The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center is an annual spring festival of exciting cinematic discoveries from around the world, curated to appeal to adventurous moviegoers. Films are screening at The Museum of Modern Art’s Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 1, 11 W. 53 St., Midtown and the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater, 165 W. 65 St., between Broadway and Amsterdam avenues, Upper West Side. Tickets are $16.

Saturday, March 21
The Urban Park Rangers connect New Yorkers to the natural world through environmental education, outdoor recreation, wildlife management and active conservation. On Saturday, Urban Park Rangers are hosting five events across New York City, including birdwatching American Bald Eagles over the Hudson River at Inwood Hill Park, nature photography at Astoria Park Lawn, Fire Making Skills at Salt Marsh Nature Center, Living with Urban Coyotes at Van Cortlandt Nature Center and astronomy at Conference House Park. Free.

I’m Every Woman,” presented by The Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance, is an eclectic evening of dance, song and showcases by women of the trans experience hosted by writer Tyra Allure. Catch comedienne Katrina Goodlet, dancer Leiomy Maldonado, poetry from Olympia Perez and Elizabeth Rivera, and songs from Sparklez. From 8 p.m., 2474 Westchester Ave., Bronx. $15.

Sunday, March 22
Martha Stewart will be on hand Sunday, hosting a cooking demonstration at 12 p.m. at Macy’s Herald Square (8th floor) to celebrate the opening of Macy’s annual flower show. You can also stop by and meet artist, designer and author (New York In Four Seasons) Michael Storrings at 12 p.m. 151 W. 34th St., Midtown. Free.
