FLUSHING — Famed show The Moth is coming to Queens for the first time this month, offering people a chance to share true stories about their experiences.

The Moth, which has hosted storytelling shows around the country since 1997, will host its first event in Queens on March 30 at Flushing Town Hall, and anyone with a ticket to the event has the chance to drop their names in a hat and be selected to tell a tale.

The show, called "Borders," was originally set to happen on Jan. 26, but was cancelled because of a snow storm.

"What we want to hear is great stories, and we want to hear great stories from Queens," said Gabrielle Hamilton, from Flushing Town Hall.

The event is looking for any true story that delves on themes of state lines and personal boundaries.

"We have such a diverse population we’d love to see the diversity of our community expressed on stage."

Any ticket-holder can throw their names in The Moth Hat at the beginning of the show, then 10 people will be selected at random to take the stage.

Everyone has only five minutes to tell their story. The audience will then score the performers and ultimately crown a StorySLAM winner.

Peter Aguero, a GrandSLAM champion storyteller who lives in Queens, will host the show.

The show's theme was chosen to solicit stories about immigration, diversity and boundaries — all of which are constantly shifting in the changing borough, Hamilton said

"I think the theme will reach out," to the audience, she said.

Tickets will be sold in advance for $16 for premium admission, and will be available soon at The Moth's website.  There is a limited number of tickets available at the door for $8
