QUEENS — Trains along the 7 line resumed service between Queens and Manhattan after they were suspended for Thursday morning's rush-hour commute because of a smoke-filled Bryant Park station, the MTA said.

Service resumed with some delays about 9:30 a.m., ten minutes after firefighters said a subway smoke condition at 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue was under control, MTA and FDNY officials said.

Trains had been suspended for about 90 minutes between Hunters Point Avenue and Times Square-42nd Street, the MTA said.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the smoke condition, an FDNY spokesman said.

Riders should check the MTA's website for transit updates.
