DOWNTOWN — An art gallery, a chocolate shop and a wine store — these knife-wielding thieves got class.

Police are on the hunt for a pair of robbers who have been swindling Soho and East Village establishments at knifepoint since late January.

In some cases it's a duo, in other cases the police think it's a man acting alone. But in all the robberies a suspect flashes a knife, intimidates the clerk on duty and makes off with cash.

The spree began on Jan. 21 at the Goldwater Boutique located at 84th East Seventh St. where the perpetrators earned themselves $240. Since then, they have hit Bond Street Chocolate, a Mott Street art gallery, clothing stores on Elizabeth Street and Mott Street and the bath and body store Molton Brown on Spring Street.

In their most successful and most recent heist, the perpetrators robbed Wine Therapy located at 171 Elizabeth St., swiping $1,000. The robbers were caught on surveillance footage wearing gray hoodies as the wine shop's cashier cleaned out the register and even handed over money from his own wallet.

None of the establishments could be reached for immediate comment.

In total the robbers have managed to rake in more than $2,000, police said.

Anyone with information on the robberies should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or visit the website.
