MANHATTAN — A thief shoved an 84-year-old woman and snatched her purse in broad daylight on the Upper East Side, police said.
The suspect followed the woman as she was walking east on 82nd Street at York Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Monday, officials said.
The thief pushed the woman and took her purse, which contained cash, a credit card and a cellphone, the NYPD said. The victim was not injured in the incident.
The suspect, who was caught on security camera footage released by the police, was last seen wearing white sneakers and maroon pants. Police described him as 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall and about 170 pounds.
