THE BRONX — Just weeks after pleading guilty to a knifepoint robbery and assault and being allowed to walk free without bail, a 16-year-old boy stabbed another teen in the gut outside a Soundview deli, according to police and prosecutors.

Kevin Palacios, of Concourse Village, pleaded guilty in Bronx Supreme Court Feb. 6 to robbing a food deliveryman in Soundview in 2013. During the attack, one person choked the deliveryman before Palacios repeatedly hit the victim in the back with a pipe, according to records.

They snatched the food and fled, records show.

He was allowed to stay free without bail pending his upcoming sentencing, but at about 3 a.m. on Feb. 22, Palacios stabbed a 17-year-old in his left abdomen outside Motown Deli at 1001 Soundview Ave. according to the NYPD. The motive for the stabbing was unclear, police said.

The 17-year-old, whose name was not released, was treated at Jacobi Medical Center and released, police said.

A relative of Palacios alerted police that he had been involved in the attack and he was arrested at his home on Tuesday, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

He was arraigned on Wednesday on felony assault charges and is due back in court on March 2, prosecutors said. It was not clear how much time he faced or if the new stabbing charge would impact the sentence.

Information about Palacios' other prior arrest was sealed because he was a juvenile, officials said.
