MIDTOWN — La Parisienne, a classic Seventh Avenue coffee shop, has shuttered.
The 64-year-old diner — which served $1 coffee, according to an online menu, and a cheeseburger for $5.75 — had a "For Rent" sign hanging in the window as of Thursday.
"We're moving on!" said a sign that was briefly posted in the restaurant's window, according to Jeremiah’s Vanishing New York, which first reported the closure. "Thanks for letting us serve you for over 50 years."
The restaurant's owners could not immediately be reached for comment.
La Parisienne, at 910 Seventh Ave. near West 58th Street, catered to construction workers and local regulars, according to those gathered outside its window Thursday.
Kevin O’Rourke, 52, a plumber from The Bronx, had come to meet a friend and get a roast beef sandwich.
“They’re going to get rid of all the middle class soon. There’s no place for us to eat anymore,” he said.
“We’re going to have to eat over there, caviar,” he said, pointing to the upscale restaurant Petrossian across the street. “$300 lunch," he added.
A call to the building's owner was not immediately returned.
