INWOOD — Two muggers slashed a man across his chest and robbed him of $500 and his cellphone before fleeing the scene in a gray car Wednesday morning, police said.

The thieves walked up to the man, whose identity was not immediately released, as he stepped out of a pharmacy at 5030 Broadway, near West 213th Street, about 11:22 a.m., mugged him and fled in a grey vehicle, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

He was seriously injured and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in The Bronx, an FDNY spokesman said.
