LOWER MANHATTAN — Freshly baked breads and pastries combining French and Asian flavors have arrived on Fulton Street.

Lot 77, a spacious 80-seat cafe and bakery, soft-opened last weekend in Southbridge Towers at 77 Fulton St., across from DeLury Square Park.

“This area is continuing to grow and we’re here to bring quality food, quality coffee to the neighborhood,” general manager Jackie Kim said. “We want people to feel comfortable here.”

Kim said the Japanese pastry chef whips up desserts inspired by both French and Asian desserts, like a sweet cream roll infused with green tea and a layer cake made with yuzu, an Asian citrus fruit. Other unique sweets include doughnuts filled with red beans, and sugary bread flavored with melon.

The in-house bakery will make an assortment of breads, though it's not ready to prepare all of the loaves and baguettes on offer just yet.

Lot 77 also plans to serve small bites with a variety of ethnic flavors, like Chinese dumplings for $5, guacamole and chips for $12 and a version of poutine — a French Canadian gravy served over french fries — for $9.95. The menu has not been finalized yet.

Salads, sandwiches and a variety of gourmet coffee and teas are available now at the shop. The cafe will also start serving beer and wine within the next few weeks.

The owners of Lot 77 also have a nearby supermarket, 55 Fulton Market, which Kim manages.
