MANHATTAN — An ex-con who had the drug Molly in his SUV hit and critically injured a pedestrian in Inwood Tuesday night before fleeing the crash scene, police said.

The victim, 37, whose name was not released, was crossing east on Sherman Avenue at Sickles Street when Hector Minaya, driving his 2007 Ford Edge SUV south on Sherman, struck him about 7:20 p.m., the NYPD said.

Minaya, 42, an unlicensed driver who lives on the block, continued driving to the corner of Broadway, where he pulled into a parking garage at 2 Sherman Ave., police said.

He was arrested there about 40 minutes later on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlicensed operation of a vehicle and not having a license, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The victim was listed in critical condition at Harlem HospitalFDNY officials said.

Minaya previously served time in prison for attempting to sell drugs and falsifying business records, according to the state Department of Corrections. He was realeased in 1999.
