FINANCIAL DISTRICT — The same burglar who broke into TriBeCa restaurant Añejo by smashing its front glass door with a fire hydrant cap also recently broke into a Financial District deli, police said.

In the second incident, the goateed burglar crashed through the front glass door of Arome Cafe on Jan. 15 at about 2:45 a.m., and quickly swiped $1,600 from the eatery's two cash registers, police said.

The theft followed a similar burglary on Jan. 6, when a man broke into upscale Mexican restaurant Añejo, but fled the eatery empty-handed. Based on surveillance video, police believe the same suspect burglarized both Arome and Añejo.

Police released surveillance footage of the suspect fleeing Añejo.
