NEW YORK CITY — The city’s food scene has a few recent additions, including a Bushwick taco joint opening a new location in the West Village and a downtown Manhattan beer bar that's using pizza recipes from the 1930s.

Here are four new places to try this week:

Chalait at 224 W. Fourth St. in the West Village
A piece of $10 toast and a sweet, milky green tea drink from Japan are two items on the menu at neighborhood newcomer Chalait. The café also serves Counter Culture coffee. Its pricey toast comes with either avocado, radish, eggs and vinaigrette or with Greek yogurt, blueberries, pears, walnuts and a drizzle of honey.

Barleycorn at 23 Park Place in TriBeCa
A beer bar with a rotating collection of 72 local and rare brews has opened in downtown Manhattan. Barleycorn will also be serving brick oven pizzas made from Brooklyn recipes dating back to the 1930s.

The Finch at 212 Greene Ave. in Clinton Hill
Hole-in-the wall bar, the Finch, has opened, bringing seasonal farm-to-table fare to Clinton Hill. It opened in December and is serving up menu items such as pork loin and belly with smoked bread pudding and kabocha squash.

La Gringa Taqueria at 82 Christopher St. in the West Village
A casual Mexican restaurant from Bushwick has opened a West Village location. La Gringa Taqueria's new spot has a backyard with outdoor seating for the warmer months. The menu will have tacos and burritos filled with chicken, tilapia, pulled pork and sweet plantains.
