CHELSEA — The Swedish are coming to Ninth Avenue, and they’re bringing chocolates and wine.

The owners of Scandinavian-style cafe chain Fika will open a spot at 180 Ninth Ave. on Feb. 23, co-owner Lena Khory said.

They will serve Swedish specialties as well as bread and pastries from their Midtown bakery.  Chocolates will come from their TriBeCa factory, where Fika's master chocolatier Hakan Martensson recently made a chocolate sculpture of Yoda from "Star Wars."

Fika opened its first Chelsea location on Sixth Avenue and West 15th Street in November, and a new spot on Seventh Avenue and West 19th Street on January 2. These locations will begin serving wine and beer within the month, according to Khoury.

The new cafes offer the same menu as the company’s dozen other locations, including Swedish meatballs on rye for $10 and a house-cured salmon gravlax with dill-stewed fingerling potatoes and mustard sauce for $15.

Khoury said the wine and beer were intended to compliment the food, not to turn the place into a bar.

"Imagining our guests wanting to enjoy a nice glass of white wine with their freshly made salad, a beer with their meatball platter or a glass of dessert wine with our handcrafted chocolate truffles is not far-fetched," she said.

Martensson's Instagram account showcases his latest chocolate sculpture achievements, including a pile of skulls, dinosaur and trolls.
